It was the night before Christmas...

My husband and I were drawn outside late on Christmas Eve by strobes of light echoed by distant rumblings. Barefoot I stepped through the garden bed, blind to any spider webs that may have been entangling the branches around me, until I reached the wooden fence which encircles our home. With dog in hand I climbed each slat until I arrived perched upon the highest post. A position I would occupy for the next 30 minutes until the itchy yearning for my camera becomes more than I can bare.

The storm danced around us for over an hour before the trees rocked and the rain chased us inside.
